:: Small but beautiful?

As I may have moaned about before, after the move to The Smallest Flat in London, I am now sharing a desk with my adorable but messy husband. The above shows just how much space I have to work with. Grumble grouch grrr, etc. Luckily, I am next to the window and, therefore, get to extend my rightful space onto the windowsill. This is where I keep my little collection of sentimental and inspiring knick-knacks (nick-nacks?) that help me to write/craft/mindlessly surf t’internet. One day I’ll have the fabled room of my own; until then, this little lot will keep me going.

(l-r): my Little Mermaid mug full of pens, two cigarette holders (for purely fancy dress purposes) and the goat finger puppet that my brother bought me last weekend and absolutely made my day; a Chinese style tub full of ink cartridges even though I hardly ever use my cartridge pen anymore; the heart-on-stone paperweight that Simon made for me when we were 19; a cinnamon soap that smells so amazing that I can’t bear to use it and deplete it; the blue vase that my grandma made; and a genuine paving stone that Simon stole from Prague in November and wrapped up as an intriguing Christmas present.

Up until a few days ago, the other side of the windowsill was home to these amazing mini daffodils. The room feels bear without them - what shall I replace them with?

    I’m so so sorry you have to sit so close to the warcraft. The skyping bugs me and I get to sit all the way over the other side of the room.

    Yeah, I tend not to try and do anything that requires concentration while it’s happening. Si is usually quite thoughtful now, though.
