Present Challenge: The Results!

Like any huge fan of Christmas, I like to have as many as possible. On Saturday I held a Christmas dinner party – on which, more later (except for a small crisis over giblets, it went well). But today my boyfriend and I exchanged presents. We’d set one another a challenge to make one another Christmas presents for a $30 budget. I had NO IDEA what he would come up with so I was really delighted this morning to open a wall clock made from a copy of my favourite Shel Silverstein book, ‘The Giving Tree’!
Fortunately he was also pleased with his Road Trip Kit…

I’ve yet to work out how Stephen made the wall clock… but the Road Trip Kit is a modified artist’s box, filled with road trip goodies – Spiderman plasters, a multi-knife, air fresheners, a chocolate bar and so on – and a book (part of the lid) with ideas for road trip games and former road trip mementos. And! I was lucky enough to have a sneaky mum who conspired to have a sewing machine bought for me over here which I opened today – so 2008 will be all about the learning to sew!

Giblets. Surely they’re just the things you handle very gingerly on their way to the bin? Or am I missing something?

Ooh good job! Such a great idea to do this. I wonder if I could encourage Adam to get crafty?

Agh! I just noticed that I took a picture whilst the glue wasn’t totally dry on my fire motif – it looks much less gloopy round the edges when dry!

Wow! Go you! Go you both!
I love how your road trip kit turned out, good work!
Also, that clock is gorgeous! I’d say to give your mister a big kiss from me, but he might not appreciate it. Give him a big kiss from you instead.
