Kate Bush had it right – Babushkas rock! Every Christmas I remember how much I love matryoshka dolls and going to Prague this year made me yearn for my very own matriarchy of little wooden dollies even more.
It was very silly of me not to buy myself a set in their native domicile, but there’s plenty of gorgeous pieces available right here in the UK. I particularly like this set from Babooshka shop, though it’s a tad out of my price range at £985!
This set from Krasnaya is much more affordable.
For now, though, I’m plenty happy with this cute little gal that I rescued from a waxy grave on Friday night.
