The University Boat Race was on TV - which means Spring - but the weather was about as springlike as this year, so far. Funny what stays in one's mind, out of all the possible memories, and how they can be stirred by seeing something like this doll picture. She has such an old-fashioned look. I had books of them - the ones where you get one cardboard doll and pages of clothes to cut out and put on her.
