Time I posted one of my recent makes I think, and here’s one I was really pleased with. It’s worth sharing here because it is made with a free downloadable pattern available from the ever lovely Hillary Lang of Wee Wonderfuls. It’s not too hard either - some slightly fiddly little curves to sew, and you do have to stuff, stuff and stuff some more to pack her legs tightly enough to stand up, but this cute little kitty can be put together in two or three sessions. Isn’t she sweet?
More cute patterns for embroidery and stuffed toys from Hillary are available in her shop.

That is absolutely adorable! I’ll definitely be downloading that pattern. I love the material that you’ve used as well - dp you remember where you got it from/who it’s by?

Wow, that is so cute! And looks so professional as well, wish I could make things which look as good as that!

The fabric came from the odd little haberdashers on Essex Road: ‘Sew Fantastic’. I do love a pun. If they still have any left I want to get some more as I’ve found it a very useable one for lovely bag linings and things.
Em - I bet you can! I recommend the pattern - it was my first attempt at a stuffed toy, I think the pattern was what made it work.

I have downloaded the pattern and do intend to try it at some point! :) What did you stuff it with? Did you hand sew or machine sew it?

Ooh! We could turn this into a group project - if Vanessa and I make one, and all our regular readers, we can showcase the results in a few weeks. What do you think?

That’s a good idea Kirsty. There’s a flickr group already about it, but it’d be good to see the Four Good Corners versions.
Em - I stuffed it with polyfill from an old pillow (ikea pillows being a cheaper source than buying it in craft shops, I find). You need a narrow, blunt tool like a chopstick or such to poke it right down into the legs, and stuff it tight.
I machine sewed most of the seams, then hand stitched the openings, and attached the head and eyes. I used pva glue to attach the felt pieces, after it was all sewn up. You could hand stitch it easily enough though, since it’s not very big.

Oh oh oh I want a go too! But I’m not around :(
Would love to see everyone else’s efforts though! I can add mine later. Much later…

How long are you not around for? I don’t think we’ll all be done in a week or anything - I was thinking we’d build it up and then give people time to get crafty before we showcased the results.
