Knitting ennui

knit me a moustache! - Sometimes the knitting speaks to you, sometimes it looks at you.
I’ve been having slight knitting ennui lately. My brother’s girlfriend is clearly not going to get the second sock of the pair that I planned to make for her. I’m still as excited by yarns and patterns as usual, but when it comes to settling down and picking up the needles, I just feel less than enthused right now. That is until –

My manager got me a Cath Kidston knitting bag for Christmas! I know that it’s silly and probably materialistic of me, but now that I’ve got something fabulous to cart some yarn up to my parents’ in, I’m looking forward to some holiday knitting. I have to decide on a project pronto, though, as I leave for Coventry in the morning…

I think that one sock is a charming gift. If nothing else, you don’t have to worry about what to get her next year…

I finished the second sock on Christmas Eve – every year, I’m knitting up to the last minute, but I get it done :)

I wouldn’t worry about being materialistic, especially right now. Remember, your economy needs you!
