Cake wrecks

I spent a happy lunch break today chortling my way through the Cake Wrecks blog. So many of the things I love! Amusing mishaps with spelling and grammar, garish colours, bizarre cake concepts and a liberal helping of black humour.
I can’t decide my favourite; Thanks for being our “Dad”, the life size cake bride, or the one pictured above which I’d hope is for a gardener, but is actually, tragically, someone’s wedding cake.

Oh wow. This is amazing! My fave cake wreck was when Party Party on Kingsland Road shut down, and the cakes were left to rot in the window for months and months. Thomas the Tank Engine looked like he’d gone off the rails, Barbie toppled off her cake skirt, and a red racing car cake looked like it had a nasty Grand Prix accident. I’m sure I took a photo… yes, here it is!

Jo, why didn’t we have life size bride cakes at our weddings? Kerry, you’re next up – you know you want to!

That’s the best blog I’ve read in a while. Excellent find!
At 6′ tall, I think a life-size cake bride of me might be prohibitively costly. Not to mention intimidating. If only I were a five-footer, I might consider it.
